FMS133 Big Top Card

Freshly Made Sketches has really been on a roll lately with some awesome and unique sketches. I knew I wanted to use my newest stamp set "Big Top" since it was already out on my desk. And typically when I think of the circus, I think of primary colors.
Recipe:

Stamp: Big Top (CTMH)
Inks: Moonstruck (retired), Cranberry, Slate, Black (CTMH)
Tools: Circle Stax Die (MFT), Paper-Piercer, Micro-Tip Scissors (CTMH)
Other: White Daisy Bitty Brads (retired)

This is one of those paper packs that I wished I had stocked up on before it retired. It's so cute.

Hope your day is crafty and relaxing.

STS#18 Footloose Card

I love when I find sketches that use an oval shape. Gives me the perfect excuse to get my Spellbinder oval dies out and play.

Seize the Sketch Challenge hit it out of the park with another great sketch.

For the seahorse image, I sponge-daubed 4 different pigment inks onto my stamp before stamping onto the paper. I fussy cut that cute sun image.

MOJO342 Hooligans Birthday Invitation

My daughter turns 6 next month. I say it all the time, but I just don't know where the time goes. Seems like yesterday that we were strapping her into her car seat and bringing her home.

Being a cardmaker, I don't really get free passes to buy the generic birthday invitations you can find in just about any store nowadays. So I was pleased when I saw this week's Mojo Monday sketch.
Recipe:
Paper: Hooligans (retired), Pear CS, Black CS, White Daisy CS (CTMH)
Stamp: Big Top (CTMH)
Inks: Pear, Black (CTMH)
Tools: Cricut Artiste, Cricut Art Philosophy, Paper-Piercer (CTMH)
Other: Purple Shimmer Trim, Purple Glitter Gems (CTMH)

Izzy gives it two thumbs up. Hope you are having a great day!

Timberline Workshop

I am back again with my second post. On Friday night, after I tucked the kidlets into bed, I had time to play in my craft room. I was able to get all the cricut cuts made, plus 2 layouts finished before going to bed that night. I tend to be a bit fussy, and a true perfectionist to the core, so I was proud that I got that much finished.

Recipe:
Paper: Timberline, Lagoon CS, Twilight CS, Goldrush CS, Chocolate CS, Bamboo CS, Colonial White CS (CTMH)
Stamp: Timberline WOTG (CTMH)
Inks: Goldrush, Ponderosa Pine, Chocolate, Lagoon (CTMH)
Tools: Paper-Piercer, Micro-Tip Scissors, Sponge Daubers, Cricut Art Philosophy Cartridge (CTMH)
Other: Glue Dots, Foam Tape, Lagoon Brads (retired), Chocolate Brads (retired), Bamboo Brads (retired), Timberline Complements, Timberline Assortment, Irresistables Dimensional Elements (CTMH)

I didn't stray much from the workshop guide or Jeanette Lynton's suggested artwork samples. When something works, why change it? I knew these layouts would be perfect for many camping trips pictures that I have yet to scrap. I am in love with this paper! I especially like it paired with the Twilight Cardstock. If you'd like to order your very own Timberline kit or accessories, please visit my Scrappinbliss Website.
G1077 Timberline Workshop On The Go $29.95
X7182C Timberline Complements $4.95
My workshop is scheduled for Sunday, April 27th, from 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm. If you are purchasing just the workshop kit, the total cost is $34.27. If you want to add the complements, your cost will be $39.93. For those attending my workshop, you will receive added cardstock (and the use of my inks and cricut) necessary to complete your pages as my thank you for attending.

Thanks for stopping by today.

EMS Sketch #55 Timberline Layout

I LOVE PINTEREST! I don't know how I did without it, and I'd definitely go through serious withdrawals if it went away.

For my next project, I was inspired by a sketch I found through Pinterest. Cheryl E. created a great sketch complete with dimensions. I am linking it up with her sketch at Even More Scrapping. You will have until the end of the month to play along, too, if you like.
Recipe:
Paper: Timberline, Bamboo CS, Colonial White CS, Goldrush CS (CTMH)
Stamps: Catch U Later, Shining Star (retired) (CTMH)
Inks: Goldrush, Lagoon, Ponderosa Pine (CTMH)
Tools: Paper-Piercer, Micro-Tip Scissors, Sponge (CTMH), Circle Stax Dies (MFT)
Other: Irresistables Dimensional Elements, Timberline Complements, Lagoon Mini-Medley Assortment (retired), Chocolate Brads (retired), Colonial White Brads (retired) (CTMH)

I need to get some pictures printed off so I can add this layout to my son's album. This sketch is intended to make those pictures pop. Isn't that Timberline paper gorgeous?! You can purchase your very own from my Scrappinbliss Website.

Have a happy day!

MOJO340 Twitterpated Card

This new idea book has so many beautiful kits in it that I am finally beginning to dip into my hoarded stash. Twitterpated is one of my all time favorites. I love every single color in it. I am entering this card into the Mojo Monday Challenge #340.
Recipe:
Paper: Twitterpated (retired), Sorbet CS, Chocolate CS, Colonial White CS (CTMH)
Stamps: Twitterpated WOTG (retired), Feathers (CTMH)
Inks: Crystal Blue, Chocolate, Sorbet (CTMH)
Tools: Chicken Wire Embossing Folder (Cuttlebug), Sponge, Sweet Leaf Alcohol Marker, Clear Detail Embossing Powder, Craft Heater, Paper-Piercer, Micro-Tip Scissors (CTMH)
Other: Chocolate Bitty Brads (retired) (CTMH)

When I was looking at the circle elements of the sketch, I kept seeing feathers. I giggled a little as I embossed the sorbet cardstock with the chicken wire embossing folder. One of my favorite shows of the past is Dharma & Greg. That episode where Dharma and her hippie parents go to a farm to free the chickens and then accidentally drive over some as they are fleeing the scene..."Well, that's the price you pay for freedom." LOL

Have a great day!

RS#109 Hi Card

Good morning and Happy Friday to you! I have been enjoying warmer temperatures and watching the snow disappear. The kids are getting outside more and already looking forward to the moment they get their trampoline back.

Last night, in the midst of watching a shocking episode of "Scandal", I created my next card.
Recipe:
Paper: Footloose (retired), White Daisy CS (CTMH)
Stamp: Hi (CTMH)
Ink: Black (VersaFine)
Tools: Clear Detail Embossing Powder, Craft Heater, Crystal Blue Alcohol Marker, Honey Alcohol Marker, Paper-Piercer (CTMH)
Other: White Daisy Brads (retired), White Daisy Grosgrain Ribbon (retired) (CTMH), White Twine, Blue Button (Jo-Ann's)
The colors, as much as the photo itself, inspired the papers I chose.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:
1) Retro Sketches RS#109 Challenge
2) Colour Me CMCC#15 Challenge

I hope that you all have a wonderful weekend. Happy crafting!

PP190 Spring Break Layout

There's a little story behind this layout. I found the sketch on Pinterest about a week after I created a similar layout. It was easy to decide what papers to use. Well, I threw the basic bones of this layout together over a month ago and then I got side-tracked with cards. This afternoon, while the kids were in school, I decided to see what photos might work well with the papers I used.

Funny, but the most recent pic's I took worked the best. So I decided to pull out some stamp sets and do a little fussy cutting as I got caught up on Property Brothers. LOL
Recipe:
Paper: Lollydoodle, Desert Sand CS, Hollyhock CS, Sunset CS, White Daisy CS (CTMH)
Stamps: Ticket to Ride (retired), Bohemian Alphabet (retired), Charming Chevrons (CTMH)
Inks: Sunset, Pear, Hollyhock (CTMH)
Tools: 1 1/4" Circle Punch, Paper-Piercer, Micro-Tip Scissors (CTMH)
Other: White Embroidery Floss, Pink Glitter Gems (CTMH)

Sketch courtesy of Sketch Savvy Blog.
I would like to enter this into the following challenges:
1) The Paper Players #190 Challenge
2) Use Your Stuff #130 Challenge

I used three groups of 3 chevrons, 3 circles, and a cluster of 3 glitter gems, plus 3 photos. I think that applies. :)

Spring inspired us to go to the bounce house for an afternoon of bouncy fun. After following them back and forth several times, I decided I would just sit on the floor against the wall and wait for the kids to rid themselves of some restless energy. It worked well. Afterwards, we ended up grocery shopping and I was complimented twice on how well-behaved and quiet my kids were. Teehee. If they only knew!

A Muse Card

Good morning. Here is my second card made with my adorable "Hi" stamp. A clear stamp that is just $2.95 is unheard of. I like the possibilities of this stamp with that whimsical flower.

I decided to try something different today with my next card. I was inspired by a sketch I found on Pinterest, and when I went to the sketch site, I scrolled down and saw a card that inspired me even more than the sketch. You can see the card that inspired me here.

Recipe:
Paper: Caboodle (retired), Sky CS, Sunny Yellow CS (retired), White Daisy CS (CTMH)
Stamp: Hi
Ink: Black (VersaFine)
Tools: Spots & Dots Embossing Folder (Cuttlebug), Scallop Die (Spellbinders), Circle Stax Die (MFT), Paper-Piercer, Micro-Tip Scissors, Clear Detail Embossing Powder, Craft Heater, Sweet Leaf Alcohol Marker, Crystal Blue Alcohol Marker, Honey Alcohol Marker (CTMH)
Other: Spring Harmony Brads (retired) (CTMH)

I do not qualify for the sketch challenge because only Unity stamps can be used. But if you happen to have any in your stash and would like to play along, you only have until April 9th. I love how my card turned out. It only took 15 minutes to throw together, too!

Hope your weekend is fabulous. Thank you for stopping by again today!

SSSC213 Easter Card

Hello. I'm back again today with my second card for the day. I didn't want to miss the deadline for a couple of challenges.

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges:
1) Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge #213
2) The Paper Players Challenge #189
Recipe:
Paper: Skylark, White Daisy CS (CTMH)
Stamp: Sugar, Sugar (The Cat's Pajamas)
Ink: Black (VersaFine), Sweet Leaf, Heavenly Blue (CTMH)
Tools: Circle Stax Die (MFT), Micro-Tip Scissors, Clear Detail Embossing Powder, Craft Heater, Blush Alcohol Markers, Honey Alcohol Markers, Crystal Blue Alcohol Markers, Sweet Leaf Alcohol Markers, Whisper Alcohol Markers, Sponge
Other: Olive Buttons (MFT), Neutral Baker's Twine (retired) (CTMH)
The card size is 4x8. I chose Paper-Piecing, Patterned Paper and Ribbon or Twine for my Tic-Tac-Toe. And someone has really upset Mother Nature today because we've had rain, hail and then snow. Yup...must have more sugar. ;)

MOJO339 Special Delivery Card

One of my first cousins just had a baby girl. She was born 5 weeks premature and had to spend a week in NICU, but she is now doing well and ready to go home. Angela reports that baby just wants to sleep; she's so tired. I made this card with Baby Amelia in mind. (Isn't that a precious name?)
Recipe:
Paper: Skylark, Splendor (retired), Sky CS, White Daisy CS (CTMH)
Stamps: Lifting Spirits, Petite Perks (CTMH)
Ink: Black (VersaFine)
Tools: Clear Detail Embossing Powder, Craft Heater, Honey Alcohol Markers, Sweet Leaf Alcohol Markers, Crystal Blue Alcohol Markers, Paper-Piercer, Watercolor Pencil, Corner Rounder (CTMH), Oval Die & Scallop Oval Die (Spellbinders), Cloudy Sky Embossing Folder (Darice)
Other: Honey Brads (retired)
I love this color combo from Color Throwdown. And I would like to thank Mojo Monday for another great sketch. What was even better was that they included some suggested card sizes with their sketch to take the guesswork out of it. I chose the 3.5 x 5.5 size. It still fits beautifully in a standard A2 envelope. Yay!

It is currently raining here today, but that means the temperatures are above freezing. Happy Friday!
